How the experience unfolds
8:30 AM
Sacsayhuamán before the crowds
Walter collects you from your hotel and you start at the great zigzag walls of Sacsayhuamán, with time to ask how stones of over 100 tonnes were cut and fitted without mortar.
11:00 AM
Qorikancha and the Inca streets
Walk down into the city to the Temple of the Sun, where a Dominican church stands on Inca walls, then through Hatun Rumiyoc to the Twelve-Angled Stone.
1:00 PM
San Pedro Market and a picantería lunch
Taste fruits from the cloud forest, cheeses and chuta bread at the stalls Walter has bought from for years, then sit down to a long lunch at a traditional Cusco picantería.
3:30 PM
San Blas, at your pace
Rest at your hotel or keep exploring the artisans’ quarter of San Blas with Walter. The afternoon bends around what you have enjoyed most.
6:00 PM
Twilight Cusco
As the Inca walls light up, finish with the best of Walter’s night tour: anticuchos grilled to order, picarones, hot emoliente and a pisco toast.

Frequently asked questions
Is Walter really my guide all day?
Yes. Your booking is confirmed with Walter by name. If his calendar is full on your dates, we tell you before you pay and offer one of the guides he trained instead.
How much walking is there?
About 6 km over the whole day, mostly on cobbled streets, with a car to Sacsayhuamán. The pace is slow and there are many stops.
Is it suitable on my first day in Cusco?
It is better on your second or third day. Cusco sits at 3,399 meters, and the day is long. On arrival day, our Pachamama ceremony or a quiet afternoon is kinder to your body.
Can the day be shortened?
Yes. A half-day version covers Qorikancha, the market and lunch. Ask for it when you write to us.
