Excursion Description

Discover seven stunning glacial lagoons nestled in the highlands of the Ausangate mountain range. Each lake shines in a different color — from deep cobalt blue to emerald green and turquoise — reflecting the surrounding snow-capped peaks and mineral-rich terrain.

Depart Cusco early for the scenic 3-hour drive through the South Valley to the Pacchanta trailhead near Mt. Ausangate (6,384m). Begin the guided hike through high-altitude grasslands, passing through herds of alpacas and llamas. Visit seven glacial lagoons, each with its own distinct color created by mineral deposits and glacier melt. Enjoy a hot lunch with panoramic views of the Ausangate glacier. Return to Cusco by early evening.
