Depart Cusco for a 3-hour drive to Sangarará. Savor a quick breakfast, then begin the 2.5-hour trek along scenic mountain ridges. Reach Waqrapukara fortress, built on top of twin rocky horns overlooking the Apurímac River canyon. Tour the temples, solar altars, and defensive walls. Enjoy a hot outdoor lunch, then hike back to the transport for return to Cusco.
